Considering Practice – Leisa Shelton
A 2 ½ day Summer intensive led by Melbourne based artist / educator Leisa Shelton. The perfect time to reflect and revisit practice, this workshop was part of a series (led by Shelton) which has been running nationally and internationally for artists of all disciplines. Its focus was on exploring artists’ core principles, values and intentions that underpin their practice. Over the weekend, artists sought greater clarity around practice and to develop strategies to re-define ways of working toward stronger, more resilient futures. Combining this work with the addition of a retreat structure allowed participants to be immersed in conversation and reflection.
Leisa Shelton is a performance artist and curator. Her practice foregrounds collaboration and advocacy for brave, contemporary transdisciplinary work. Leisa’s current practice is focused on curatorship – initiating new frames for the presentation and development of performance, nationally and internationally https://www.fragment31.com

Testimonials; “I gleaned enormously from Leisa’s workshop which for me was experimental and inward looking as a site for stimulating my practice. I used what I learnt as a tool to get in touch with embodied experiences and sensations to drive my practice” Judy-Ann Moule

Testimonials; To be enveloped by the Noosa Biosphere hinterland landscape for a seven days residential masterclass was bliss for a visual artist with an environmental ethos. Supported and enriched by the unique and inspiring spaces and places – obviously conceived by creatives and executed by artisans – this professional development experience was outstanding. The interactive, reflective and challenging nature of the Studio 167 experience continues to inform and stretch my arts practice, my research and my way of being in the world. Thank you Studio 167, I’ll be back when the post Corona 19 world allows.
